SSC result for 2017 announced

RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced results for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams 2017 on Monday.

The results were announced by BISE Rawalpindi Chairman Dr Mohammad Zareed. A formal event will be held on Tuesday at Government Post Graduate College Asghar Mall in which medals will be awarded. Punjab Minister for Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Tanvir Aslam will be the chief guests.

Girls from the science group secured the first three positions in the SSC result for 2017. According to the result, 77.72pc students passed the exam which includes 72.18pc boys and 84.62pc girls.

A total of 121,505 students appeared in the examinations including 88,145 regular students and 33,360 private students. As many as 94,402 students passed and 26,888 students failed.

A total of 978 students were absent and 39 cases of using unfair means or cheating were reported.

Two of the top positions were secured by girls from Rawalpindi city. All three girls come from private schools.

In the arts groups, female students from government schools in Rawalpindi city and Attock secured the first three positions and male students from seminaries attained the top three positions in the arts group. The boys belong to the small towns of Chakwal, Attock and Pind Dadan Khan.

Amber Liaquat Chaudhry from Radiant Secondary School, Iqbal Town, Kuri Road, got the first position by scoring 1,082 marks. She was followed by Maryam Khalid of Winnington High School (Girls) ICI Khewra Jhelum who grabbed the overall second position by obtaining 1,079 marks. The overall third top position in the examination was bagged by Areeba Aslam of Radiant Secondary School, Iqbal Town, Kuri Road who obtained 1,077 marks.

Among the boys in the science group, Syed Aayan Saqib got the first position by securing 1,075 marks and the second position holder Ubaidullah secured 1,073 marks. They both belong to Radiant Secondary School, Iqbal Town, Kuri Road. The third position was secured by Ahmed Noor from Cadet College Hassanabdal who obtained 1,070 marks.

In arts group girls, Amna Ibrahim who is a student of Government Girls School Khayaban-i-Sir Syed Rawalpindi got first position by 1,005 marks, Bibi Zainab from Government Girls High School Waisa, Attock, got second position by getting 998 marks as did Zohra Bano from Government Comprehensive Girls Higher Secondary School, Dhoke Kashmirian, Rawalpindi.

The third position was secured by Bibi Samra from Government Girls High School Khunda Attock who got 995 marl(s.

In the arts group boys, Ahsan Abdullah from Jamia Baitussislam Talagang got the first position by securing 968 marks, Farhat Shehzad from Darul Uloom Pir Syed Ahmed Shah Hamdani Fateh Jang got the second position with 961 marks and Muhammad Sana Ullah Ikram from Darul Uloom Muahmmadia Rizvia Mohallah Kot Kalan Pind Dadan Khan came third with 956 marks.
