GUJRANWALA: Scores oftraders and civil society staged a demonstrationinAlipurChattha against the killing of a trader on Sunday by some unidentiñed persons.

According to reports, some persons entered the shop of cloth merchant Muhammad Imran and opened fire on him.

Imran received multiple wounds and expired before getting any medi-cal assistance.

A delegation of traders met City Police Officer Ashfag Ahmad Khan and sought action against the culprits.

The CPO constituted a team headed by Saddar Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamr an Mumt az.

The SP told Dawn that different teams were conductingraidsto arrestthe accused.

The chief minister also sought a report from the Gujranwala regional police officer.
