PESHAWAR: A constable was injured when militants attacked a police post in Regi Model Town (RMT) on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Tuesday night.

The attack took place at Zone-3 of the township when militants fired at a post of the RMT police station in the Warsak division. Constable Ahmad Ali received bullet injuries on his hand, according to a statement issued by the city police.

Ali was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The statement said that the police retaliated to the attack, forcing the militants to flee. A search operation was launched immediately after the attack. There was, however, no mention of any arrests made during the search operation in the official statement.-Bureau Report
