BAJAUR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers here on Saturday held a protest rally against the federal government and criticised it for the rising prices of essential commodities in the country.

Hundreds of party activists in cars and riding motorcycles attended the rally that started from the house of PTI district president and local MNA Gul Zafar Khan in Mamound tehsil.

The rally later turned into a public meeting in Inayat Kallay Bazaar after passing from several areas.

Addressing the protesters, Gul Zafar and other speakers said that the `imported government` had failed to provide essential commodities to the masses on reasonable prices.

They alleged that the country was facing the worst economic crisis due to the incompetent rulers.

They said that the previous PTI government had greatly improved the country`s economy, but the present government had destroyed it through its flawed policies.

Mr Zafar and other leaders claimed that majority of the people of Bajaur tribal district supported Imran Khan and they would participate in the party`s long march on Islamabad to force the government for announcing general elections in the country.

They added that PTI would easily win the upcoming elections on all the National Assembly and provincial assembly seats in Bajaur tribal districts.

KILLED: Unidentified assailants shot dead a man in Khar Bazaar of Bajaur tribal district, police and Rescue 1122 officials said on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Rahimullah, a resident of Khar town.

The officials said that Rahim was seriously wounded and taken to the district headquarters hospital, Khar. However, they said that the 28-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries.

An official told this correspondent that a team of police deployed in Khar Bazaar soon reached the crime scene, but by then the assailants had escaped. He said that the police had launched investigations into the incident.
