Eight schools make it to Spelling Bee regional final

LAHOR E: Eight schools from as many pools on Tuesday qualified for the Lahore regional final round of the spelling bee competition organised by the Dawn Media Group at the Ali Institute of Education.

Eight schools won the competition from among 88 teams of contestants divided in eight pools.

They will now compete in the Lahore regional final round to be held on Oct 28.

The winning schools included Hamdard Public School, 4-J Model Town; LACAS Boys, F-2 Block,Johar Town; DHA Education System, 970-K, Sector Z, Phase-III DHA; SICAS, Main School, Avenue, Opposite of Askari XI; DHA Senior School for Girls, 483/1-G, Phase-V, DHA; Aitchison College, Middle School, The Mall; Lahore Grammar School, 136-E Block, DHA Phase-I, Lahore; and Sialkot Grammar School, Bhopalwala, Sialkot.

This year approximately 1,000 schools from across the country are participating in the competition the largest school event in Pakistan organised under the Dawn in education programme.
