PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday notified merger of three administrative directorates of the erstwhile Fata intothe respective administrative departments of the province.

Anotificationissuedfrom the establishment department said that directorates of education, Zakat, Ushr and social welfare and population welfare would nowreport to the respective secretaries of the KP government.

It said that primary and secondary parts of erstwhile Fata directorate of primary education would now report to respective secretaries of the primary and higher education, while Zakat, Ushr and social welfare and population welfare will also report to the respective administrative secretaries of the provincial government.

The notification said subsequent modalities on otherauxiliary matters would be decided shortly. It said that in case of issues in unancing, development schemes and other matters relating to erstwhile Fata vis-à-vis federal government and other partners, the respective secretaries would communicate and route cases as per current arrangement accordingly.

The KP health department had a couple of weeks ago announced to merge health directorate of the merged areas with the province.
