KARACHI: The Government of Pakistan, in consultation with the Government of Punjab, have appointed a Commission of Inquiry consisting of Mr Justice Mohammad Muneer, Judge of the Federal Court, who shall be President of the Commission, and Mr Al(htar Husain, Financial Commissioner, Punjab, with the following terms of reference: 1. to inquire into and report on the circumstances of the assassination of Mr Liaquat Ali Khan at Rawalpindi on Oct 16; 2. to report on the adequacy of the security arrangements made on that occasion; 3. to fix responsibility for any inadequacy or failure of those arrangements; and 4. to make such recommendations as may be necessary for the effective improvement of security arrangements at public functions attended by the Governor-General, the Governors of Provinces and Ministers of Central and Provincial Governments.
