Two killed on road MANSEHRA, Nov 24: Two people were killed and another was injured when a jeep fell into a ravine in Naran area of Kaghan valley on Sunday.

The passengers of jeep (MA 1680) were on way to a nearby village in Naran through Lake Saiful Muluk road when the driver lost control over the steering because of snow as result of which it fell into ravine.

The dead were identified as Mohammad Ibrar and Mohammad Haroon of Naran.

Local people and police rushed to the scene and retrieved dead and injured from the ravine after hectic efforts.

The injured identified as Mohammad Ihsan was taken to nearby hospital. Kaghan police after registering FIR started investigation.-Correspondent Woman found dead PESHAWAR, Nov 24: A woman was found dead in her house in Regi on Sunday morning.

A man, Khurshid told Regi police that his daughter, Niaz Meena had been found dead inside a room of her residence.

However, he didn`t know what caused her death.

A police official said the body sustained a bullet injury, but it was unclear if she had committed suicide or someone had murdered her.

`We have assigned the case to investigation branch to ascertain the actual cause,` the official said.

Meanwhile, in another case, four people, including three children, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded inside a house in Hayatabad.-Bureau Report Paramedics to stage sit-in PESHAWAR, Nov 24: Paramedical Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will observe complete strike in all the teaching hospitals in Peshawar on Tuesday (Nov 26) if the government doesn`t issue a notification regarding their promotion by Monday (today).

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the association`s president Jauhar All said a protest meeting of the employees would be held at Lady Reading Hospital on Tuesday.

`Following the meeting, a protest procession will be taken out from the LRH to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly where a sit-in will be staged. Next line of action will also be announced there,` he said.

Mr Ali, however said, the paramedics would perform duties in anti-polio drive and also provide emergency cover to patients in hospitals in the larger public interest.-Bureau Report Female youth forum PESHAWAR, Nov 24: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries has set up a female youth forum for economic uplift of the women in the province.

The forum will keep close liaison with the First Women Bank, Smeda, various universities, industrialists and other international organisations including SAARC.

Uneducated young girls can also become members of the forum.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the forum at the women chamber here on Sunday, its chairperson Maryam Arshad said any youth from 18 to 30 years old could become member of the forum.

She said a desk of the First Woman Bank would also be established at the chamber so the members could get relevant information about training, availability of visas and loans.Bureau Report ASWJ activists block road LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 24: The local chapter of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat on Saturday held a protest demonstration in Lakki city against Rawalpindi tragedy.

ASWJ activists and people from other walks of life gathered at Kargil chowk on main bus stop and blocked the Bannu-Mianwali road, carrying party flags and banners.

A contingent of police and Elite Force commandos and anti-terror squad personnel had been deployed to avert any unpleasant incident.

Spealcing on the occasion, ASWJ leaders Maulana Umar Farooq, Mufti Nawab Khan and Hafiz Sharifullah criticised the government for failure to maintain law and order during Ashura.

They alleged that the seminary and its students and teachers were attacked on 10th of Muharram under a planned conspiracy and that the government should thoroughly probe it.-Correspondent Teachers hold demo TIMERGARA, Nov 24: The All grade 15 secondary schoolteachers association, Lower Dir on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the provincial government`s promotion policy.

The protesters carrying banners and placards marched on the road from Timergara school to the press club, chanting slogans against the government. The teachers demanded promotion to grade 16.

They alleged the ANP led provincial government had divided teachers into cadres and grades and rejected the one-third promotion police under which only one-third of the existing teachers were promoted to grade 16.

They demanded of the government to promote all grade 15 teachers to grade 16.-Correspondent PHC CJ`s son laid to rest BANNU, Nov 24: Mohammad Asif Khan, son of Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan, died after protracted illness at CMH Rawalpindi during wee hours on Sunday. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard here the same day.

His funeral prayers were attended by large number of people, including serving and retired judges of the Supreme Court, Peshawar High Court, subordinate judiciary, lawyers, friends and family members.

The deceased was suffering from a blood-related disease for last few years. Few days ago he was taken to hospital in Peshawar from where he was shifted to CMH Rawalpindi.Bureau Report Flaws in revenue automation PESHAWAR, Nov 24: The Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry has demanded of the federal government to remove systematic flaws in Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) to make it efficient and user-friendly.

In a press release issued here on Sunday, the chamber`s director Ziaul Haq Sarhadi said the Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the Federal Board of Revenue`s chairman should take note of the situation.

He said the inefficient system was responsible for problems being faced by customs clearance agents.

`The Ramzan Bhatti commission constituted by the Supreme Court has also mentioned in its report that loss of revenue and scandals in the customs department would not have happened if PRAL`s systematic flaws had been removed and its software improved,` the press release quoted Mr Sarhadi as having said.-Bureau Report
