Highway blocked after two brothers shot dead

DERAMURAD JAMALI: Two brothers were shot dead in Jaffarabad district on Sunday.

According to police, Chakar Joya and Bejar Joya were gunned down by six attackers in their house in Qazi Abdul Samad village of Usta Mohammad tehsil.

A six-year-old girl wasinjured in the incident.

A brother of the two deceased was shot dead last month and his killers were not arrested.

Soon after the killing of the two brothers, family members and other people of the village took bodies of the two brothers to Dera Murad Jamali and blocked the Quetta-Sukkur highway by putting them on the main road in protest. Theprotest led to suspension of vehicular traffic on both sides of the highway for hours.

Nasirabad Deputy Commissioner Zafar Ali and Nasirabad DPO Irfan Bashir reached the area along with a heavy contingent of police and held negotiations with the protesters.

The protesters, after assurance of the deputy commissioner and theDFO, ended the protest.

`Police took no action for arrest of the armed men who had murdered one brother of the two victims one month ago and today the armed men murdered two more brothers, Safar Khan Joya, a leader of Joya National Alliance alleged.

Jaffarabad police said the cause of the killing is an old enmity.
