KARACHI: Two suspected gangsters were killed in what law-enforcers described as an encounter jointly carried out by police and Rangers in Chanesar Goth on Wednesday.

Nadir Baloch alias Nado and Wajahat Ali alias Kali Mirchi were associated with the Ashok gang of Chansear Goth, the police said.

Clifton SP Fida Hussain said they were involved in 30 targeted killings and other crimes.

A spokesperson for the paramilitary force said the Rangers had conducted an intelligence-driven targeted raid on hide outs of the Asholc gang in Chanesar Goth.

On seeing the Rangers, the gangsters opened fire on the personnel and, in an ensuing exchange of fire, the two `notorious gangsters` of the Ashok group were killed, the official said.
