MUZAFFARABAD: A woman was killed and her spouse and two children were wounded after their home in the Kotli district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) collapsed due to incessant rains on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Chambar Colony, on the outskirts of Khuiratta, at about 5:30am, according to Zaheeruddin Qureshi, head of the AJK Disaster Management Authority.

`The mud made house caved in due to unrelenting rains, causing death of Parveen Bibi and injuries to her spouse Sadiq, son Zain and daughter Amman,` he said.

A police official from Khuiratta police station told Dawn that the deceased woman was in her mid forties.

The injured persons were out of danger, he said. Staff Correspondent
