Appeal to army chief

2016-02-26
DURING the Kargil war in 1999 the Pakistan Army had taken charge of the Siksa hospital, Sheyok sector, Ghanche district, Gilgit-Baltistan. At that time the Pakistan Army`s medical corp provided the best medical facilities to the local inhabitants, and the Siksa Hospital was one of the best stateof-the-art hospitals in the whole of Baltistan, and even people from Skardu came for the treatment to this hospital. It had the best medical equipment, medicines and highly professional doctors of the Army medical corp.

Emergency surgical facilities like appendectomy, laprotomy were performed on a daily basisfree ofcost thatsaved hundreds of precious lives .

But sadly these facilities were withdrawn gradually and now only a single medical officer, with no appreciable medical and surgical facilities, is present at the moment.

It may be recalled that during the Kargil war the people of Chourbat stood along with the Pakistan Army and provided it full moral and logistic support.

We now request the COAS to look into this matter and order provision of specialist medical and surgical doctors to this hospital so that 36,000 people from 13 villages of this far-flung border area of Chourbat can also get specialist medical and surgical treatment from this hospital.
