MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf`s Hazara division governing body has delayed naming Mansehra district cabinet after a controversial audio conversation between its secretary information and a former office-bearer went viral on social media.
PTI information secretary for Hazara, Ajmal Khan Swati, is seen in the audio asking Shan Khan, a former office-bearer in Siren valley, that party leadership wanted to see former opposition leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Shahzada Gustasib Khan, and an Australian-returned party sympathiser, Dr Ashfaq, to beappointed to the slots of district president and general secretary, respectively.
Ajmal Swati asks Shan to project the two leaders in mainstream and social media.
However, Shan refuses to support Gustasib because of his personal dif ferences with him.
The PTI divisional information secretary then says that party`s MNA Salah Mohammad Khan was also supporting Mr Gustasib and Dr Ashfaq for key offices.
`The PTI divisional governing body staged a drama by holding an open forum and then met the local lawmakers to show it was holding consultations for picking the cabinet members, but in fact names of thedistrict cabinet had already been finalised,` Dr Zaheer Khan, former Mansehra senior vice president, said, adding they won`t accept such decisions at any cost.
He claimed that over 95 per cent party workers supported MPA Babar Saleem Swati for the office of district president.
`T he party workers have met governing body president Ali Asghar Khan and apprised him of conspiracies in the party,` Dr Zaheer said, adding a party delegation led by the MPA had met chief organiser Saifullah Khan Niazi to seek his intervention to thwart the conspiracies in the party. Correspondent
