PROPAGANDA: I recently watched a video of an Indian YouTuber having almost two million subscribers trying to portray Pakistan as a fragile state. By mixing facts with fiction, he tried to establish his point, which was toxic in nature. What should alarm us was his conclusion. He considered this a good time for India to take control of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The Indian objective has always been to destabilise Pakistan by whatever means. From a peasant to highly-placed, educated, political elite, the Indians use toxic language against Pakistan, while we always seek peace and good relations with India. In order to deal with Indian warmongers, we need to give them befitting rebuttals on any misleading, illogical and biased content. New Delhi must understand that it has no choice except changing its jingoistic policy.

Khateeb Khan Kotli HINDUTVA: With temples cropping up in Arab countries and official Indian delegations visiting holy Muslim sites, the tentacles of Hindutva ideology seems to have been moving smoothly on the back of economic and diplomatic power of India. In the backdrop of what is happening in Palestine, the attitude of governments in the Arab world is seriously frustrating. The Arab rulers must shake themselves out of their current hibernation. It is high time they looked beyond their personal interests.

Mohsin Mumtaz Chiniot BEHAVIOUR OF POLICE: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police was once well-known for its exemplary behaviour and professional excellence, but the newly recruited police personnel in the department tend to resort to intimidation, humiliation, terror, torture and physical violence with impunity. There is need to look into this issue and efforts must be made to inculcate a culture of respect for human rights in the department in order to regain the lost glory of the ICT police and the trust the public once had.
