KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sent suspect Sahir Hassan, an actor, to prison on judicial custody in a drug case.

The investigating officer (IO) produced the suspectbeforethejudicial magistrate (South) and requested the court to extend the suspect`s physical remand for an additional five days to complete the interrogation, which was still ongoing.

However, the defence counsel opposed the IO`s plea.

After hearing both sides, the court remanded the suspectinjudicialcustody and directed the IO to submit the investigation report within the stipulated period.

Regarding the case`s progress, the IO told the media that technical efforts were underway to identify the supplier of the drugs.
