Cash, valuables stolen from houses

I S L A M A B A D : Criminals stole and looted cash and valuables, including gold and silver ornaments, in different areas of the capital, police said on Tuesday.
A maid working in a house at I-8/3 stole cash and valuables worth over Rs3.5million. Sabhia Haseeb told the police that the woman first stole keys of the house and disappeared. Later, she along with a man entered the house when the residents were away and stole 10 gram gold ornaments, Rs500,000 cash and a mobile phone worth Rs70,000 along with clothes and a children`s money box.
Likewise, thieves stole cash and valuables, including gold ornaments and a motorcycle from a house located at Postal Colony, Phulgran.
Mudasser Sharif complained to the police that he along with his family had gone to attend a marriage ceremony and upon return found the locks of the house broken. He said the family found saving certificates worth Rs600,000, cash Rs65,000, two tola gold ornaments, a motorcycle and three mobiles stolen from the house.
Similarly, thieves stole and cash worth over Rs800,000 from the house of Zahir Babar at Golra when the residents were away. The stolen valuables included two tola gold ornaments, six tola silver ornaments, Rs150,000 cash and household items worth Rs150,000.
Moreover, criminals in the disguise of police looted cash Rs470,000 from a man at Soan Garden, two kilometres away from Loi Bher police station.
Asjad Mehmood told the police that he along with three other persons was going to the vegetable and fruit market when two car riders wearing police jackets and carrying gadgets used by police disembarked and asked them for a search.
