Early payment of blast compensation demanded

SWAT: People affected by the bombing of the CTD police station in Kabal on Tuesday demanded an early payment of compensation promised by authorities fortheirdestroyedhouses.
They also called for a government aid package for the injured.
AbdulWadood and his son Hazrat Ali, and Mukhtiar Khan, all from Kabal, who live near the CTD police station in Kabal, told reporters at the Swat Press Club that on April 24, 2023, a bomb explosion at the CTD police station in Kabal killed two people and injured 12 in the neighbourhood.
They said the blast was so powerful that two of Abdul Wadood`s houses were destroyed and one house was damaged, while Mukhtiar Khan`s two houses also suffered partial damage.
Hazrat Ali said authorities promised compensation for the martyrs and the injured, but payments for his mother and Abdul Wadood`s wife, and injured Shaukat Ali had yet to be made.`Compensation for the damaged house has also not been paid, so we are facing serious problems,` he said.
He complained that they repeatedly visited government offices but no progress was made.
They demanded the government and administration to provide compensation for the injured and damaged houses to alleviate their misery.
Meanwhile, Regional Police Officer of Malakand Division Sher Akbar on Tuesday launched a campaign to admit the children of martyred police officers to various private schools for a better future.
The initiative was announced by the RPO during a visit to Buner district, where he met with the families of martyrs. He learned about their problems and needs, and promised all possible assistance.
He also said memorandums of understanding would be signed with various educational institutions to provide free, quality education to the children of martyred police officials. Refreshments were later served to the families of fallen personnel.
