PMTF retirees` woes

2018-03-26
AS many as 650 employees who have retired f rom Pakistan Machine Tool Factory in the last eight years still deprived of their arrears, including pensions.

Sixty-five of the retired employees have died whereas the remaining many of whom are about to turn 70 are passing their days in miserable circumstances.

Furthermore, these poor souls have been deprived of medical facilities.

Over the years the retired employees have knocked at many doors, including the National Assembly and Senate, to obtain justice and received sympathetic hearing, but the PMTF management refuses to listen. Many of the retired people who could not take this inhuman attitude of the PMTF management any longer, held a protest rally on March 15, in front of the PMTP of fice in Karachi The management instead of giving a sympathetic hearing and trying to resolve the issues f aced by retired employees, registered cases against them at the Sukhan Police Station.

On behalf of the PMTF retirees, I appeal to the higher authorities to intervene and ensure full payment of arrears to retired employees at the earliest.
