T HE newly-constructed four-lane road from Moghalpura to Harbanspura, Lahore, has been built while all the small bridges for pedestrian have been removed by the authorities.
They have promised to build overhead bridges. Foundations for the overhead bridges have been laid but there is no further construction. The reason is a stay order from court obtained by the residents living in front of the proposed location of the overhead bridges.
There are almost 20 to 30 schools and university campuses. Students cross the canal on a small makeshif t bridge.
I urge the people and authorities to let the construction of these bridges start to facilitate all.
