KARACHI: An infant girl and her mother were wounded when a grenade exploded near Uzair Baloch’s home in Chakiwara on Monday evening, police said.

Chakiwara DSP Syed Ali Anwar termed it an accident. Elaborating, the officer said that certain teenagers guarded two homes of Uzair Baloch, the detained chief of the banned Peoples Amn Committee located on Wali Mohammed Hasan Ali Road. He said the hand grenade allegedly kept by one of the teenagers fell on road and exploded.

As a result, an infant girl and her mother who were passing by sustained wounds. They received minor injuries.
