LAHORE: Sub-Inspector Khurram Jathol`s quick action led to the arrest of a driver who fatally struck an eight-year-old boy on Ring Road near Badami Bagh on Friday.

The boy, identified as Zafar, was crossing the road when a car hit him. The driver, Syed Shafqat Ali, fled the scene. Jathol, in charge of Mayo Hospital police chowki, witnessed the incident and immediately pursued the suspect.

After a chase, during which Ali repeatedly tried to evade capture, Jathol arrested him and handed him over to the Badami Bagh police.

The City Division Superintendent of Police commended Jathol. The Badami Bagh police have registered a case against Ali.
