MUZAFFARGARH: A 35-year-oldmarriedwoman was found murdered here on Monday at Shafignagar on Mahmood Kot Road.

Saddar SHO Mohammad Saleem Bhutta said police received information that body of a woman was lying in fields.

He said he reached the spot and made announcements in mosques for identification of the body because her face was burnt badly by an acid attack.

He said the woman was laid to rest after autopsy at DHQ hospital.

Later, he said, her family approached police for registration of a case and identified her through pictures.

He said the autopsy showed the woman wastortured, raped and acid was thrown on her face.

Police have registered a case.

AXED TO DEATH: A woman was axed to death by her husband in Turkey Colony, some 10-lcm from here, on Monday.

Reports said Zainab Mai, 60, sold her house in Turkey Colony which was allotted to her by the district government under the flood scheme. She was living with her daughter.

On Monday, her husband Ghulam Fareed visited her and demanded proceeds of the house. On her refusal, Ghulam Fareed axed her to death.

Civil Lines police have registered a case against her husband who managed his escape.
