Third division

2016-05-26
ONE of my friends is a successful professional working in a prestigious organisation. She is pleasant, intelligent, confident, competent, and helpful, and possesses many leadership qualities; in short, she is a person who people aspire to be like.

This friend made the decision to dedicate her life`s work to educate and disseminate knowledge when she was a teenager. She completed her graduation, obtained a diploma, and when the chance arose also completed her MBA. Over the course of her professional life she has attended and conducted numerous workshops in order togrow and share her expertise with novice professionals. She has been serving in the education sector for the past two decades.

Unfortunately, this high achiever has been unable to achieve her next goal in life to pursue an LLB degree. The reason that she cannot be admitted into an LLB programme is because she only passed as a third division graduate.

During the worst phase of her life orphaned and struggling my friend completed her graduation as a private candidate while also doing a job. She has moved forward, made up for it in leaps and bounds in her professional career, and is dedicated to goingfurther.Butthe following fact continues to hold her back to this day: there is no LLB degree programme that will consider a third division candidate.

My question for concerned authorities is: if a third division restricts one from ever being admitted to another programme, why do they issue a third division degree indicating `pass`? Surely, it isn`t a crime, but it is being considered one.
