SHANGLA: The elders and youth of Lahore Munji village here have demanded of the government to establish schools for boys and girls in their area, as the local students have been facing problems attending schools far away from their village.
They said that their Shangla district lagged far behind other districts as far as education facilities were concerned.
The matter was discussed by the youth in a meeting in Lahore Bisham here the other day, which was presided over by Umar Hayat, a social activist.
They said that though Munji village was located near Bisham tehsil, it had no primary schools. They demanded of the government to set up schools in the area as soon as possible.
Mr Hayat regretted that in his recent visit Chief Minister Pervez Khattak ignored Lahore Munji and announced schools for other areas of Bisham city. He added that girls` education was a prerequisite for development of a society and the government should provide the local youth with education facilities.
When contacted, MPA Rashad Khan alleged that the provincial government was not establishing schools in areas of opposition members. Correspondent
