LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to submit a record of plots allegedly distributed among blue-eyed persons by Nawaz Sharif during his stint as Punjab chief minister in 1988.
The court was hearing a petition questioning the allotment of plots in Garden Town on political grounds.
Petitioner Advocate Noshab A. Khan said rules were violated in the allotment of plots.
He said the plots were given to the blue-eyed people at throwaway prices. He asked the court to get the outstanding amount recovered from the buyers of expensive plots.
An LDA official told court that they were collecting record of plots in question and sought more time to produce it.
Expressing dismay over the official`s statement, the coud observed except Pakistan, all countries protected their records. It said the LDA authorities were not discharging their responsibilities. The court directed the official to produce the required record by July 1.
