LWMC launches cleaning operation

LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) on Saturday carried out a cleaning operation in nine towns of the city under its zero-waste campaign.

The LWMC is committed to maintaining beauty of the city of gardens along with the daily cleaning operation; the pre-Eid cleaning plan is also being implemented. Zero-waste operations are also being carried out at bus stops, markets and cattle markets.

The operation was carried out in nine towns of the city, including Allama Iqbal Town, Ravi Town and Circular Road, Multan Road, Raiwind and Sundar. It was also carried out on Drain Road, Ravi Road, Shahdara, Vandala and Timber Market to make the zero-waste operation successful.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer Rafia Haider said cleaning work was completed around 59 cemeteries. She said zero-waste operation would also be carried out around more than 123 mosques, two bus stands and four cattle markets. Staff Reporter
