LAHORE: Hundreds of members of the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) on Wednesday held a protest rally from Masjid-i-Shuhada to the Punjab Assembly against government economic policies.
The protesters chanted slogans against the government’s ‘anti-employee budget’.
They demanded a 20 per cent increase in salaries and pensions. The protesters also demanded a 30 per cent disparity allowance. They demanded the reversal of notifications on leave encashment, pensions and gratuity.
They said a cut in pensions and gratuity had increased the financial difficulties of the government employees.
AGEGA leaders Khalid Sanghera, Yaseen Warraich, Rana Liaqat, Faiza Raana and Kashif Shehzad Chaudhry led the rally. — Staff Reporter
