MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) chapter of the PPP has dismissed the results of July 21 elections as `engineered` and held the election commission and administrative machinery responsible for `the most organised rigging`.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, PPP`s regional chief and outgoing Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed announced the setting up of an eightmember `fact-finding committee` to collect evidence of rigging and publish them in a `white paper` within a month.
In the July 21 polls, apart from Mr Majeed, PPP`s Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin and Aamir Ghaffar Lone returned from Kotli and Karachi. In all, the PPP won three seats.
Mr Majeed said that from preparation of electoral rolls through the National Database and Registration Authority to amendments in polling schemes and distribution of cheques from the AJK Council, everything was engineered to bring the PML-N to power.
