KOHAT: The district nazim has directed the nongovernment organisations to submit their projects to assess their exact contribution to development of the district during the last 25 years.

Naseem Afridi issued the directions while chairing a meeting of the representatives of the five NGOs here, according to a statement.

The nazim also sought details about areas of working of the NGOs and their staff. He said he would visit all the projects and offices of the entities to verify their share in the development process.

REVENUE OFFICIALS WARNED: Assistant commissioner Gul Bano has directed the revenue offi-cials (patwaris) to serve people of their respective areas in a befitting manner.

She made the directives during a visit to Miankhel where she found that all the patwaris serving in the region had limited themselves to their office and did not bother to go to the far fiung areas despite people`s complaints.

F A U L T Y TRANSFORMER: The residents of Bari Gali area of Kharmatu have demanded immediate replacement of a burnt out power transformer due to which they are facing water shortage.

In a statement on Friday, the elders criticised the Pesco officials and elected representatives for not paying heed to their problem.

They said the power transformer had been out of order for a week.
