ISLAMABAD: Chief Commissioner Islamabad has constituted a joint investigation team for cases registered against the prime minister, the Punjab chief minister, ministers and other officials of police and capital administration.
The cases were registered on the complaint of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leaders.
The request for the JIT was made by Inspector General of Police Tahir Alam Khan.
The team was headed by SP Saddar retired Captain Mohammad Ilyas. SDPO and Secretariat SHO, and an inspector of investigation branch along with representatives of Intelligence Bureau, Inter-Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence will be its members.
The officials said the JIT had started collecting evidence and requested the media houses and the government buildings located on Constitution Avenue to provide video footages.
They have asked the officials concerned from police and administration to record their statements, they said.
