GUJAR KHAN: The PMLN parliamentary secretary, Raja Jawaid Ikhlas, has expressed dissatisfaction over police performance, while office-bearers of the traders association have threatened to observe a shutterdown strike to protest police failure in curbing crime.

Raja Jawaid Ikhlas while talking to newsmen, said the escape of a `most wanted` criminal from police custody has spread a sense of insecur-ity among residents of the area who have been bearing the brunt of extortion and kidnap for ransom at the hands of the escaped ring leader.

The man is wanted for a number of crimes registered against him.

The PML-N leader urged senior police officials to improve police patrolling in the area to curb robberies.

The traders demanded that the chief minister Punjab take measures to improve security and protect lives and property of citizens.
