How Pindi resident was betrayed by wife, friend

MUZAFFARGARH: The police have traced the missing family of Kausar Niazi, of Rawalpindi, who went missing here in Sanwan in January last year.

Two robbers who were arrested on Wednesday revealed that Kasaur Niazi had been killed by hardened criminal Rafiquer Goraha with the connivance of Niazi`s wife Tahira.

Police rescued the three children of the deceased from the alleged murderer`s accomplices.

District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Zameerul Haq said Kausar, of Tarnol area of Rawalpindi, came to Sanawan with his family on January 17, 2013with hardened criminal Rafique, alias Malangi Goraha. Soon after their arrival, Kausar, his wife and three children went missing.

Their relatives in Rawalpindi alerted Tarnol police and later Sanwan police while Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also took notice of the disappearance of the family, and ordered the DPO to trace the case.

The DPO tasked Sub-Inspector (SI) Zaigham Shah, Sultan Colony chowki in charge, with finding the missing family. The SI arrested Bilal and Nazir, the alleged accomplices of Rafique, who told police Kausar had been killed by Rafique and with the connivance of Samina.

They told police Kausar Niazi was a neighbour of Mushtaq, who wasalso a robber and committed robberies with Rafique in Rawalpindi. They both developed friendship with Kausar Niazi and Rafique invited him to visit Sanawan with his family.

Meanwhile, Rafique and Niazi`s wife had started an affair. On January 17, as the family landed in Sanawan, Rafique and Samina killed Niazi and started living as a couple.

On Wednesday, when police raide d their hideout, Rafique and Samina fled while Bilal and Nazeer were arrested. Police also found the three children of Niazi in the hideout. The DPO said police teams were after Rafique and Samina. The other character of the story, Mushtaq, has already been killed by Rahim Yar Khan police.
