BATKHELA: Two persons were killed and 21 others injured when a passenger van plunged into a ravine at Malkand Pass here on Monday.
According to Levies officials at Daragai post, a van on way to Mardan from Timergara went out of the driver`s control due to over-speeding near the Malakand tunnel and plunged into a gorge.
As a result, two brothers Rauf Syed and Khurshid were killed on the spot, while 21 others sustained injuries, who were shifted to tehsil headquaners hospital, Dargai.
Three of the injured were referred to a hospital in Peshawar in precarious condition.
The Malakand Levies and Al-Khidmath Foundation volunteers reached the site of the accident and participated in the rescue work.
The injured belonged to Maidan, Samarbagh, Wari, Timergara, Kohat and Chitral.
The Malakand Levies registered a case and stahed further investigation. Correspondent
