TAXILA: Police on Sunday arrested four suspects in a kidnapping and murder case registered in July 2021 with the Wah Saddar police station.

Subdivisional Police Officer Malik Mohammad Arif told newsmen that the suspects, Jabbran, Faig, Faisal and Zamurud, had abducted Mohammad Irfan from the Model Town area and later dumped his body in a drain near Malikabad. He said the two prime suspects involved in the case had already been in jail.

Moreover, Hassanabdal police arrested a man identified as Sadeequllah, a resident of Chitral, for allegedly shooting to death his brother-in-law Ameen over a domestic dispute.

The suspect had gone underground after committing the crime and court had declared him a proclaimed offender.

Hazro police also arrested a member of an inter-provincial racket of drug smugglers who was wanted in a 36 kg charas smuggling case.

The police said the suspect identiñed as Shahgufta Bibi was the member of the racket involved in over Rs1 million drug smuggling bid which was foiled by the police a few days ago.
