WB team reviews hydrant system in city

KARACHI: A World Bank (WB) delegation on Monday conducted a detailed inspection and review of the hydrants management center of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC).

The WB team include d Regional Director Dina Umali-Deininger, Yoko Okara and Farhan Sami and other officials.

Besides, KWSC Chief Executive Officer Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer Asadullah Khan, KWSSIP Project Director Abdul Ala Bhatti, DMD Planning Muhammad Ayoob Shaikh, Incharge Hydrants Cell Elahi Bakhsh Bhutto, and other senior officials were also present on thisoccasion.

The WB delegation was given a detailed briefing by the KWSC CEO on the reforms to be made in the water utility, including Hydrants Management Center and other issues.

Earlier, the World Bank team discussed in detail the various works of water supply and drainage in the city including the reforms to be brought in the Water Corporation.

According to a water utility spokesman, the World Bank delegation appreciated the CEO for his efforts on other reforms brought in the corporation, including the establishment of Hydrants Management Center.

The WB team assured the KW&SC that they would fully cooperate with the water utility for the improvement of the water supply and drainage system in the city.
