CHARSADDA: A major initiative has been announcedbyCharsadda police to facilitate the transgender community, with DPO Rifatullah Khan ordering the establishment of dedicated transgender desks at police stations and the police facilitation centre.

A delegation of the transgender community, led by Sobia Khan, who is serving in the prisons department, met with DPO Charsadda Rifatullah Khan (PSP) and apprised him of various issues and concerns faced by the community.

The DPO listened to the delegation`s concerns and directed the relevant police officers to take immediate and necessary steps for their resolution.

During the meeting, DPO Rifatullah Khan also ordered the establishment of special transgender desks at police stations and the Police Facilitation Centre to ensure easier access to police services and prompt assistance in matters related to the police.

The DPO said that Charsadda police was committed to protecting the lives and property of every citizen and providing legal assistance and services without discrimination.

He assured the delegation that all possible facilities would be provided to the transgender community and that their policerelated issues would be addressed on a priority basis.
