ABBOTTABAD: A wildlife department team safely captured a leopard using a cage in the Katli Bagh area of Bagnutar union council here on Friday.

According to Sardar Mohammad Nawaz, sub-divisional forest officer (SDFO) for wildlife in Abbottabad, the department had been receiving persistent complaints from residents that the leopard was repeatedly venturing near the settlement to attack livestock, killing numerous animals and causing panic among people.

He stated that, in response to the situation, a wildlife department team installed a cage at the site. The leopard was safely trapped in it on Friday, and officials secured the animal while observing necessary safetyprecautions.

The SDFO added that the leopard was being transferred to the divisional wildlife rescue centre for further examination andnecessaryprocessing.

According to the wildlife department, the objective of this operation is to minimise conflict between human settlements and wildlife. Correspondent
