TIMERGARA: Security forces on Wednesday raided houses at Shawa in Adenzai tehsil and took six suspects into custody, sources said.

They said that a team of the Pakistan Army conducted a search operation at Shawa village and took several suspects into custody.

The arrested men included Naseeb Zada, Mohammad Arif, Ahmad Khan, Aslam Khan, Rustam Khan and Lal Badshah, residents of Shawa and Danda Rabat who were taken to the Chakdara Fort for interrogation.

The security forces also recovered two 12-bore guns and three pistols from their possession. An activist of Qaumi Watan Party, Hidayat Khan, was injured in firing by unknown persons at Shawa area in the jurisdiction of Ouch police station on Saturday last.

Sources said that some of the militants had been active in the area and were threatening local politicians. Soon after the incident, the security forces arrested a brother of a suspected militant belonging to Shawa area.—Correspondent
