`New power company vital for Hazara`

ABBOTTABAD: The Hazara Electric Supply Company (Hesco) will play vital role in development of the region, says Jamil Akhtar Tanoli, the chairman of Hazara Workers Federation.

Briefing journalists here on Wednesday, he said that setting up power supply company for the region would also attract investors to the main route of ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor passing through four districts of Hazara.

He said that Prime Minister Shahid Khagan Abbasi ordered bifurcation of Peshawar Electric Supply Company into Pesco and Hesco on October 13. The creation of Hesco would pave way for launch of another project on CPEC route, he added.

Mr Tanoli said that establishment of industries and economic zones would be started soon in different parts of Hazara. He said that of $45 billion, approximately $33 billion would be invested in energy sector.

He said that more than 10,400 megawatts energy generating capacity would be developed between 2018 and 2020,as partofthe corridor`s fast tracked `early harvest`projects.

MACHINE: A new machine has been installed in Ayub Teaching Hospital that will help the doctors to inject only specific components of blood to the patients.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, with the help of the new machine, red blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma will be segregated and provided to the patients as per their requirements.

The machine has the capacity to process blood of 12 dif ferent donors at a time.

The statement said that blood was provided by the blood bank after proper screening. Blood is also provided to patients on change over system while thalassaemia patients are provided with free blood. Correspondent
