PESHAWAR/TIMERGARA, Nov 25: The provincial government was indulging in non-issues as it failed to materialise its commitments, said Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chief Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao here on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had promised to focus on real issues faced by people but it could not deliver after coming into power.
He said that provincial government should focus on real issues of people instead of indulging in non-issues. He said that rulers ignored real issues, which needed to be addressed on priority basis to remove unrest among people.
On the occasion, PTI leader in Nowshera district Malik Fiazur Rehman announced to join QWP along with his supporters.
Mr Sherpao said that the issue of law and order was getting worse with each passing day in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that slowed down development of the province.
The provincial government, he said, miserably failed to play a proactive role in safeguarding the interests of the province. He said that rulers had taken no serious steps to put pressure on the federal government to pay at least the arrears of the net hydel profit to the province.
The QWP leader feared that next year yield of wheat crop would not be up to the mark owing to the wrong policies of the provincial government. He said that flour shortage would hit the province in the next season if corrective and immediate steps were not taken.
Mr Sherpao said that unscheduled suspension of gas and power had made life of peoplemiserable.
He said that price-hike had dented the purchase power of people belonging to the poor segment of society.Meanwhile, QWP general secretary and sacked provincial minister Bakht Baidar Khan has said that he will move court against PTI chief Imran Khan for damaging his reputation by levelling corruption charges against him.
Addressing a news conference in Timergara Press Club on Monday, he said that his legal notice would expire on Nov 29 after which he would fight the case against Imran in the competent court.
The QWP leader said that he sent a file to the chief secretary that showed millions of rupees were embezzled in scholarship scheme during the previous government.
He said that Rs750 million were paid to four colleges in the province from the labour department for awarding scholarship to students. `I completed an enquiry as labour minister and sent the file to chief secretary three months ago,` Mr Khan said, adding that nothing was done to bring the culprits to book.
The former minister said that billions of rupees were being spent on Hayatabad technical institute wherein only 45 students were getting education.
He said that provincial government was being run by Imran Khan through remote control as PTI lawmakers had no experience to run the government. He added that the PTI chief had personal interests in centre and Punjab and he had nothing to do with people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
