Power utility for Hazara in sight, claims SAPM

MANSEHRA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally approved the establishment of the Hazara Electric Supply Company, said his aide Sardar Shahjehan Yusuf on Friday.
Mr Yusuf, a former MNA, told reporters here that the prime minister, who had announced a separate power utility for Hazara division during a visit earlier in the year, had signed the summary for it.
`The [Hazara] electric supply company will start working shortly,` he said.
The special assistant to the prime minister said the power utility plan was originally approved years ago by the then prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, at the request of the then religious af fairs minister, Sardar Mohammad Yusuf, but thePakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government scrapped it.
`The federal government wants to address the issues of power consumers in Hazara division on priority, so it approved the idea of a separate electric supply company for region,` he said.
Mr Yusuf said the power utility initiative would pave the way for the creation of Hazara province.
He said federal minister of water and power Ghulam Dastagir Khan visited Mansehra, met local lawmakers Mohammad Sajjad Awan and Jawad Abbasi and assured them of electric supply to far-off areas in Mansehra and other parts of Hazara division.
Meanwhile, Frontier Constabulary dis-trict officer Pari Gul on Friday advocated physiological therapies for the personnel of her force and police to address work stress.
She was addressing a session organised by a group of psychologists for the FC and police`s personnel at the FC Lines in Oghi area here under the `Sound Mind and Sound Body` initiative.
Psychologists Lubna Safeer, Mashal Qazi and Assad Shad trained the personnel in psychological therapies for anger and work stress.
`Stress management and better communication skills not only improve mental and physical health but also increase efficiency,` Ms Safeer said.
She said more such sessions would beheld across the division.
POLICE TRAINING: Director of the Police Training School Mansehra Qamar Hayat Khan on Thursday said newlyrecruited police personnel recruits were trained along modern lines and taught about modern technology and knowledge to perform duties better.
Mr Hayat was addressing the newlyrecruited police personnel after assuming the charge of his ofhce here.
He said the school equipped recruits with skills and laws, especially Pakistan Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code for good policing.
Meanwhile, the tehsil municipal administration on Thursday began work on a water project for Mansehra city. Correspondent
