HARIPUR: The district administration has warned that it will act against owners of wedding halls if functions happen after 11pm and the residents are disturbed by them.

The warning was issued as assistant commissioner Dr Mujtaba Arafat met managers and owners of all wedding halls functioning in Haripur city and adjoining areas.

The AC informed visitors about the growing complaints about heavy lighting, musical programmes and late night functions at wedding halls and asked them to strictly follow the earlier instructions to close halls by 11pm and keep the sound of musical instruments within permissible limit.

He warned that all those found violating those instructions would be dealt with strictly.

The wedding hall owners and managers assured him of adherence to instructions.
