Reports say that general instructions have been issued through-out Afghanistan to the Imams of mosques to make antiPakistan propaganda in their Khutbas before the commencement of the Friday prayers.

Certain Ulema of Herat, Qandhar and Mazar Sharif, it is understood, have declined to abide by these Government orders which, they say, are totally derogatory to the spirit of Islamic Shariat. The Afghan authorities, it is learned, have arrested some of these divines and general consternation is reported among their followers.
