KARACHI: A young man was shot deadinasuspected targeted attachin the Ferozabad area, police said on Sunday.
Area SHO Inam Hasan Junejo said that Siraj Ismail, 26, was targeted by a lone gunman on the staircase of a multi-storey building on Tariq Road on Saturday night.
He said that the assailants fired multiple shots but only one bullet hit Ismail. He suffered critical injuries and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment in the small hours of Sunday.
The officer said the victim was a government employee, who worked at the Sindh local government department.
A case was registered on the complaint of deceased`s uncle Rasool Bux Mangrio, a retired police inspector, against unknown person(s) at the Ferozabad police station under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The SHO said initial investigations suggested that the murder might be an outcome of some personal issues.
However, the probe underway to find out the exact motive, he added.
