KOHAT: Two women died and as many children sustained injuries when a grenade exploded inside a house in Muhammadzai Town here on Sunday, a rescue official said.

Kohat Rescue 1122 spokesman Jawad Afridi said the deceased were identified as daughter of Laal Bat Khan and wife of Suleman, while the injured included Naima and Ehsan, daughter and son of Ehtesham.

He said the deceased and the injured were shifted to the KDA Teaching Hospital, where the bodies were handed over to relatives after postmortem.

Meanwhile, nine people, including three women, were injured in an armed clash between rival groups in Zarghunkhel area of Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision on Sunday.

A Rescue 1122 team shifted the six seriously wounded people to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. The other injured were admitted to a local hospital.
