Rangoonwala lift Royal Super 6s title

KARACHI: Rangoonwala edged out MS United by a narrow margin of 10 runs to lif t the title of the inaugural three-day Royal Super 6s which concluded at the floodlit TMC Ground here on Sunday night.

Rangoonwala scored 84-2 in the stipulated ñve-overinningsin the ñnalof the final of this six-a-side competition. Manof-the-match Imran Ali was the main run-getter with 34, while Daniyal Ali contributed 24.

MS United, in reply, collected 74-3with Fouz-ul-Hasan who was declared the tournament`s best batsman making 32 and Arsalan Farzand 26.

The champions received cash prize of Rs100,000 along with a Super Power motorcycle while runners-up MS United bagged Rs50,000 at the presented ceremony which was graced by Zaheer Ahmed Sheikh as the chief.

Also present on the occasion were Tariq Haroon, Mansoor Khan, Fahad Wakeel and Shakib Jabbar.

Ejaz Ali Shah of MS United won the player-of-the-tournament award while upcoming cricketer Mohammad Asad was declared the best bowler.The tournament was organised by Zubair Sheikh under the banner of Royal Cricket Promoters, which is headed by former first-class wicket-keeper/batsman Zaheer Ahmed Sheikh.
