2022-02-27
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has repaired over 1,000 leakages in its water supply system, which will save 10 million gallons of water daily.

Moreover, the repaired pipelines have increased water pressure in the pipeline network, providing not only additional water to consumers, but to those areas where water did not reach earlier.

According to CDA media coordinator Asif Shah, a number of pipelines were being replaced in different areas of the federal capital due to which the situation will remain under control during summer.

`We have floated tenders for replacement of pipes. In sector G-7, pipelines, which provide water to around 300 houses, have been replaced, addressing a long standing demand of the area. Similarly, pipes are being replacedin sector F-7,F-8 and F-10,` he said.

He said that the water supply department has restored five water filtration plants and new water filtration plants have been established in Red Zone, Diplomatic Enclave and other areas.

`It has been decided to get the out of order water tankers repaired well before summer so that the water could be provided on each complaint. We have also completed the cleaning of the Khanpur Canal. We also appeal to the residents of the federal capital not to waste water so that everyone could get the uninterrupted water,` Mr Shah said. Staff Reporter
