2025-02-27
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Employees of the District Headquarters Hospital, Wana, Lower South Waziristan, continued their protest for the eighth consecutive day on Wednesday over non-payment of salary for months. The doctors` strike has resulted in the suspension of all routine medical services at the hospital, with only emergency services currently available, leaving patients in distress.

Meanwhile, MPA Ajab Gul Wazir held a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secretary health Shahidullah Khan to discuss the issue and ensure immediate release of funds to the hospital for payment of salary to its employees.

MPA Wazir stressed the urgent need to release salary before March 1 to prevent further disruption of healthcare services. The protesting employees and doctors expressed their frustration over the prolonged non-payment of salary.

`We are dedicated to serving the people, but without salary it has become extremely difficult for us to manage our household expenses. If the government fails to meet our demands, we will have no choice but to continue the protest,` said a senior doctor. Correspondent
