CM urged to release grant for KDA to clear retirees` dues

KARACHI: Hundreds of retired employees of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) have appealed to the Sindh chief minister to release a Rs3 billion grant-in-aid so that they can receive their retirement dues.
They stated that due to the KDA`s poor financial condition, employees who retired after September 2020 have not received their dues.
The KDA retirees are facing severe problems and mental agony due to non-payment of their dues, and some have even died from mental stress,they added.
They said that they had been hearing from months that the Sindh government would release a grant-in-aid of Rs3 billion but nothing has happened so far.
They appealed to the CM to consider their plight and order authorities concerned to release the amount.
