RAWALPINDI: A toddler died after falling into an underground water tank in the limits of Saddar Beroni Police Station on Wednesday.
According to police reports, Mohammad Azan, a three-year-old toddler, was playing outside his house in Kalyal area of Saddar Beroni when he fell into the water tank of his neighbouring house.
Shortly after the toddler was retrieved from the water tank, the emergency service staff and police reached the spot. Azan was pronounced dead by the emergency staff.
Police said that since the toddler went missing, his parents contacted the emergency police in addition to launching a search for him from door-to-door.
During the search, Mohammad Azan was found drowned in an open underground water tank.
Meanwhile, a man who was shot and injured during a clash between the two groups on Monday scrummed to his injuries while being treated at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Chaudhry Waqar, a resident of Chakri area.
Police have already registered an FIR under sections 324,148,149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). — Staff Reporter
